Starting a new course
« on: December 27, 2024, 09:24:13 PM »
I want to start a new degree in computing and IT. I enjoy the subject a lot, I want a career in it and I keep getting signs of the university whenever I try and forget about it. I really think it’s the right decision for me. So what’s the problem? A psychic told me. And I don’t know if I’m doing this because it’s right for me or because a psychic said it. I do really want to do it. And the university I’ve chose it myself. But she did say yes to it. And after watching “my strange addiction” it just scares me that I’m making a huge decision because of a psychic. I think for the career I want it wil definitely help. Even though 99% of people think it’s ludicrous to do a second degree but I like studying. Am I doing this for the right reasons?

I think I just need to separate what the psychic said and my own reasons for studying. And just accept that I’ve had the reading now and see it as positive confirmation that alls well with my decision.

I’d do your own research. If it aligns with your gut, I’d go for it. Sounds like it’s the right choice for you.

It’s hard to separate a readers advice sometimes but let’s be honest there are a lot of crap readers and they usually echo the sentiment that you’re feeling.

Go with your gut!

You already decided on this path before you spoke to a "psychic". Always listen to your gut-that place between your head and your heart will never steer you wrong. How would you be feeling if they said oh, no-it will be a disaster! You'd be like-hmmm... I don't really feel that, but whatever. Do you!

Exactly! She’s been thinking about it for a while (since I have known her here), she should 100% go ahead with it, esp if there’s a good job opp with it! To me, that’s a sign enough she should pursue what she wants. Just do it, @notacrystalfreak! :)

Thanks guys. I think I do want to do it and I will do it. But maybe the timing is just off for me right now. Started a new job and it takes a lot of my time. I also need to buy a new home and a car so I’ve got that on my plate. I’m going to need to learn to cook. I think just because she said it makes you think “I need to do this right away” but I really don’t. When I’m more settled then it’ll
be a good time. But in the mean time I’m going to get my certifications.

In the same boat here - have multiple competing priorities. I’m doing free courses where I can and looking into tuition assistance. Once I have some money saved for my home, I’m going to double-down on other priorities that need cash. Agree that you may need to figure out best timing for yourself.

I think you have answered your own question Notacrystalfreak. You are obviously very bright to be able to do the IT degree and I am sure you will do what’s right for you. Hope it goes well 💐
