They do, but you need to one star the reader and email them asap....I think it's like 48 hours or so. Go to customer satisfaction to email them (or satisfaction guarantee it might be called) and just explain why you want the refund. Sometimes, I've had to email them a few times. Usually they're quick with refunding so if it's more than a few hours, email them again. Better to do that than not get your money back.
