Weekly zoom sessions

I think a Discord channel would be great. Things could get dicey with zoom in terms of privacy, etc. We've all dealt with the lunatics who find their way here. I wouldn't want them knowing what I look like. You can do a lot with a screen shot in terms of tracking someone down.

Yeah that’s the thing with zoom, also not everyone is comfortable being visible on calls. Well,  I know I’m not.

jackY:
Yeah, I'm comfortable when it's people from work, etc. I think asking for physical visibility from a forum in which we do retain our privacy might be a bit of a stretch, but I'm all for a channel to support those who want to chat through their stuff!

The issue that comes up with these groups is intention. Some want it 12 step style, some want who has worked for them (and just ends up being trash session gossip session on ppl on keen). Ive met the author psychic junkie Sarah and she had to put out her own money thru Google groups (before she handed it to someone else, then Google groups shut down), prior to that there where yahoo groups (which psychics were pissed because many were called out by name). Many have a hard time focusing on the solution/staying in the solution and get stuck focusing on how this one particular psychic was scam- and that’s not the point, nor focus.

Many can’t even agree upon date to meet up
And then again leading a group; it is very overwhelming, I don’t even want to try but there is a need for it

I recommend a discord group, having it grow then having at least two forerunners hosting meetings 1-2 times a week

But in between then seek therapy (via work, online better help, religious affliations), other 12 step groups (SLAA sex love addicts anonymous), coda - codependency groups, gambling anonymous, even alcoholic, narcotics.

I’ve also found comfort in attachment style groups on Facebook

Best of luck, but not it

jackY:
Agree with you, but it doesn't matter what various "needs" or preferences are. It's not meant to replace IRL therapy. It should be set up as a community with set ground rules-kinda like most groups on most platforms. Don't agree? Don't join. Don't abide by the rules? You'll be  gone fast. I think the importance of how the community is defined is critical :).
