Mercury retro tends to affect virgos and Geminis most since they’re ruled by mercury. But if you have a lot of planets in cancer it can affect you quite a bit too since it’s hovering close to them throughout the transit. I always feel the shadow periods are worse than the retros but that’s just me. It affects everyone in someway depends on where it falls in your chart and planets it aspects. Astrology is intricate and quite complicated so It’s hard to make generalizations like that.

Btw Cancer in its essence is not a bipolar energy. Although they can be sensitive, they can easily be just as cold and manipulative. I would not want to hurt a cancer or a Scorpio lol. They might kill you. You ever try to f*ck with an ocean or a bottomless pit because they’ll both suck you in. Those tides will swallow you without any mercy. There’s a few constellations within some signs that point to those extreme split tendencies and it’s libra, Gemini, and Pisces if you understand the context of those signs. Libras are constantly out of balance and it’s always trying to balance the scale whether it’s in their mind or their life. Until they learn to balance it’ll always be going from one extreme to the other. Pisces are two fish swimming in opposite directions and Gemini are two twins which can act one way in the morning and different at night. And it’s only certain constellations within these signs where that will really come out. Pisces are the quintessential example of leading a double life. They’ll dexter the shit out of you and you won’t know.
So I would say use the highest form of mercurial energy and think logically and don’t get into emotional battles with people or have them manipulate your emotions etc. I would think that you can be thinking about the past a lot because oh cancers love living there. Or just in your feelings in general and can’t see the forest for the trees in them.

both actually, they will feel more emotional and sensitive to criticism and others will challenge them to the core.
Btw something that instantly popped in my mind's eye are people fighting over really ridiculous and minor things that have to do with taste matters. Air and water signs especially may receive harsh and demeaning comments about their appearance from family and co-workers, more so this week. Expect to hear comments like"what kinda shoes is she wearing or "omg what were you thinking with that haircut? this is horrible" and people will be tactless and harsher with their superficial remarks. People will also fight and ridicule each other for their choices and taste in food, hobbies and other minor things like "wtf, why did you buy this brand of cookies?? or "I don't give a f...k where you want to go, I let you choose last year, this year we'll go to Italy". Of course things like these can happen anytime but expect this week to be dramatically intensified compared to the previous weeks when Mercury was direct.
If you wish to protect yourself and lessen the effects of Mercury RX, have some crystals (amethyst, blue agate, and hematite) around you.

Having your chart read is pretty interesting. I think a lot of people give it a bad wrap Bc they think it’s only your sun sign that you go by.
My sun is Aries and my mercury is in Aries and it just got out of retrograde (I believe) and that explains sooo much lol.

O yes. A chart reading can also tell you some things that are almost "destined" where ordinary psychic readings fail. A skilled astrologer can tell you when and if for example you are destined to marry (well not actually destined but if you have many negative positions against marriage you will struggle whereas more favorable ones increase the likelihood of an enjoying good marriage or partnership).
