Oh yes I binged and no matter what anyone told me, reconnection or no reconnection my heart wouldn't  stop believing in the reconnection. It was pointless if I knew what I wanted and could care less about what anyone said, Mr. New Guy was supposed to arrive in July (its almost October... what?!) I hated that I wasted so much money (I don't even think these readers were even accurate!)

I go on a calling spree when I'm super sad or feeling anxious, it's almost a welcome relief to be able to openly talk about what's bothering us to strangers who can't really judge us or whose opinions don't really matter. The problem is they are charging us by the MINUTE at pretty pricy rates and the odds of them being accurate are pretty small.

I've had days when I was on the phone w different psychics on CP for 4-6 hours straight calling one after another! I've had mornings when I was off, I was binge chatting with readers online for HOURS.. it was super disgusting how much money I wasted. I literally could've gone on vacation w the amount of money I wasted :( my worst was back in January through June immediately after I got dumped.

Lately I've been taking myself to the nearest Ulta and buying myself face masques, bathbombs, body scrubs, etc.. a nice bottle of wine from the liquor store and then I go home and take a nice long hot bath with some sea salt+ kelp scented candles burning while sipping some moscato... it's so much more relieving than talking to strangers out to get my $$ who have no solid proof of what will happen tomorrow. I'm happier spending money to beautify myself because it makes me feel better and it's an investment going towards me :)

Just go to the gym or pamper yourself when you're feeling like this. You need to go within and love yourself because you need it the most around this time. But don't worry we have been there too!

I'm definitely limiting my readings now because it doesn't matter anymore... in my heart I know what I want and that's it. I'm still open to other options but I'll find out on my own thanks. Don't be hard on yourself 😘 Next time you feel like binging post here too ;)

Yeah, I totally agree with this: "I go on a calling spree when I'm super sad or feeling anxious, it's almost a welcome relief to be able to openly talk about what's bothering us to strangers who can't really judge us or whose opinions don't really matter."

You don't have to face them the next day with bawling your eyes out on the phone, or see the pity looks, or have them ask you "any word from so and so" and all that.

I like the shopping spree idea... but I turned that way and I'm not sure it's any better. Because now I have some great stuff, and I do feel better about myself because I invested in myself, but I still did end up going back to psychics when the next guy did hurt me again. But now, I'm over it. Mostly.

Shrug. :)

Still tired and Sunshineluv7 it's so true binge purchasing can become the next addiction!! Lol!! Not gonna lie, I was hesitant to mention the wine in my previous post because there's even a possibility of becoming an alcoholic if one isn't careful. I forgot to mention I bought a lot of make up but hey now at least I have an excuse to doll up lol.. btw Do you want to sell me your jewelry Still Tired? 😜😜😜 As long as we learn our lessons I think that's what matters :) Good for you for getting over it mostly Sunshineluv7, take your time 💖 Sometimes Im over him other days I go back to wondering what if.. one day at a time I suppose.

It's true material items can't replace the ones we miss, but I'm not sure if I feel better giving away money to readers either. I feel even worse when I see the reading didn't pass yet I spent $80 like it was nothing -_-... yet when I'm at the mall I'm hesitant to buy those shoes for $80 sometimes for example. Everyone copes differently I suppose :) but yes sometimes I am glad for those readings because even the negative readings made me reach out to my POI and apologize. They got me thinning about how I could change. The positive readings gave me some hope and I liked that too.

Heartbreak as an adult sucks, I'm really going to take my time next time the opportunity for love arrives!

i've learned that calling begets calling. period. when you're in that mood and make the first call the others come rolling in after. i wanted to call a regular tonight but i stopped myself because i thought if i make this one call i'll want to make more and it's kind of pointless. no one has really been right anyway. and the more i call the more wrong they get...

It has only been like that for me when I talked to bad readers...the better ones would give me enough peace of mind to where I wouldn't need to keep calling. Some of my past regulars were really bad readers I just didn't know it yet and they left me feeling unsettled and craving more answers.

you know what you're right. same for me, too.

i had a reader in the past that would try to make me afraid so i would spend more money. i knew he was doing it but i still spent the money because he was a good reader otherwise and i wanted the answers. that was really... karmically probably really bad for that reader.

I think keen needs to be mandated to allow a person to spend no more than 500 per month. And it should be like they should be able to track this person uniquely by the credit card name he uses and IP address both, not just by user name. Because when I am desperate enough due to bad circumstances, I can even sign up with two different accounts on keen and spend 1000.
I really think there has to be a legal mandate on keen here, it is very important to understand that this can be an addiction for people who are vulnerable enough to depend on psychics at the time of need. And when the dark times hit, we do not understand and will power does not hold strong during those times.  It is so important for someone to revolutionize this concept, take keen to court and get this thing mandated. They earn their bread and butter on our miseries!

I actually don't agree with this. We're adults with free will and free choices. It's Keen's right to take our money if we're willing to spend it. Same thing with cigarettes, alcohol, casinos, etc. We can't blame Keen for our bad spending habits. Really!

Others would argue "why can't I spend as much as I want? it's my money!". Also, $500 is small to some people and very large to others.

Addiction is a terrible thing but there is no way in Hell that anyone with an ounce of sense in their head would allow the government to dictate how they can spend their money on a legal activity.  Do you really not want to have independent control over how, when, where and what you spend your money on?

What's next? Purchases at Macy's are limited to $400 a month, Sephora $350, Vet bills are limited to $200 a month, McDonald's $2,000, and Green Grocer $1.50.  Lobbyists would pretty much run the economy on behalf of whatever corporations paid the most.

Get all your card numbers changed and have a trusted friend or family member hold them for you and not allow you access to them unless they are with you.   And go to see a therapist to help deal with it and find out why you do it and do the work to stop it.  Maybe medication would help.  Or learning how to redirect your urges.  You can't expect the government to control your spending and blame others for letting you do it.  There are ways to overcome this.  People will help you.

And it's not like I'm so perfect.  I go for years without calling at all or just a couple short calls a year to ask a quick question, and then something that pushes every button I have will happen and I go on a short binge.  I did that earlier this year.  My last binge was around 2003.  I'm not happy with myself when I think about what I spent, but I can handle it financially.  That doesn't make it ok with me because I'm disappointed with myself for being out of control.  I know where that can lead me.

I used to have a weight problem, a really bad one.  I was so out of control it wasn't funny.  I was also a binge eater who was so bad that there were times when I would literally drop my grocery bags in the middle of the parking lot, grab a quart of ice cream, rip off the top and literally shove my face in it to eat it.  I could eat a dozen donuts in less than a minute.  Two large pizzas would take me about 15 minutes.  It took a lot of suffering and heartache on my part before I finally confronted my problem and dealt with it, and it didn't get fixed overnight.  Now I'm super healthy and a size 00.  Sometimes I overindulge a little bit, but it's a normal choice, like a cookie or something.  I'm not going into a feeding frenzy like a wild animal and then trying to hide the evidence before anyone finds out any more.  I didn't hope that the government would pass a law limiting donut purchases to 2 a week and volunteer to have myself and my spending tracked by my IP address and credit card number.

Probably the vast majority of money spent on Keen is on credit cards. That's not the person's own money, it is the bank's money. The credit card companies should be putting spending limits on pay per minute services based on the person's income and credit history. People should not have the right to put whatever they want on credit.

They DO put limits on people's spending habits based upon credit history. That is what a credit limit is for. People SHOULD have the right to spend their money as they wish. We aren't victims nor children. Just because we have been irresponsible doesn't mean somebody should babysit us. That is what is called self-control. If you don't have it, cut up the cards.

So you don't pay your credit card bill with "real" money?  What does your credit card issuer accept as payment?  Monopoly money?

I don't know about you, but when I pay Amex and everyone else every month, real money comes out of my checking account to pay them.  Real money that I earned from my real job.

Totally agree... WE are the ones spending the money.  We are the ones with a problem.  WE have to hold ourselves accountable.  STOP blaming others.  IT isn't Keen's fault we run ourselves into debt talking to Psychics.  Until we accept our roles and responsibilities and hold ourselves accountable - we won't do anything about it.  I'm angry at myself that I have blown SOOOO much money.  I am not an "addictive" personality.  HOWEVER, I am addicted to psychics.  I come from a long history of all sorts of abuse - It is so hard for me to not being in control of everything around me... I miss my POI so much and can't understand why someone would run away from something so amazing (and our relationship really was).  I want to know that he is working through the things he needs to work through - I want to know that he will be back. I am slowly learning to keep my trust in God (which is my belief) - as far as my POI - I have done everything I can for him and it really just have to let go and let GOD..... I have added some funds and waiting for a reading with Judi - I have deleted my payment options on keen, so hopefully that will discourage ME from continuing to read....

BUT It isn't up to Keen to stop me... IT is up to ME to stop me!!

gotta own up and take responsibilities for our own lives. spending excessive money is not the credit card company's fault.

This psychic line called thecircle.com or what used to be called, had a mandate of $500 or something max per month. That I know because I used to use that service long ago. It is UK based service. Why did they have the mandate? Because they care. They care about the customers, about their spending. They understand that when we are being let down by someone, how it feels, where can will power fly away, and how can that take a toll on our debts because we want to hear something positive from someone during those times.
Like alcohol has an age limit, like marijuana has limitations, so should these addiction-based services have restriction.
Why is it so difficult to understand that keen makes money off of a person's misery, their immediate distress. Otherwise they have no income.
I dont see how I can control credit card's transaction via keen but yes they should have a limit too for such services. Someone has to take charge for these addiction based services, one day it will happen. And trust me, that will be for our best. Much better than realising that we spent say $15000 on keen readings instead of having it in savings!
And for those who want to spend more than $500 per month (and 500 is an arbitrary number), yes they should be allowed but it should not be made easy for them either. Just for example. I am thinking out loud anyways.
