This is completely hypothetical - what if you could know with absolute certainty that a prediction would happen, but there is no possible way to know when?
No one can say with absolute certainty what will happen in the future...but if you knew it was definitely going to happen in 5 years, instead of 5 days or weeks, would you still want it? What would you do differently?
Please believe me when I say I have heard hundreds of those types of predictions, none were correct, almost 4 years later this one situation I ask about is still dragging on and others have totally fizzled out.
In my experience, it's not worth getting worked up in a frenzy with the expectation that anything is going to happen within the time you have been told that it will. Sometimes readers do get timing correct, but it is rare.
