And you thought that manifesting your thoughts wasn't possible!

Scientific Proof Thoughts & Intentions Can Alter The Physical World Around Us

"Dr. Masaru Emoto, a researcher and alternative healer from Japan has given the world a good deal of evidence of the magic of positive thinking. He became famous when his water molecule experiments featured in the 2004 film, What The Bleep Do We Know? His experiments demonstrate that human thoughts and intentions can alter physical reality, such as the molecular structure of water. Given that humans are comprised of at least 60% water, his discovery has far reaching implications… can anyone really afford to have negative thoughts or intentions?

The rice experiment is another famous Emoto demonstration of the power of negative thinking (and conversely, the power of positive thinking.) Dr Emoto placed portions of cooked rice into two containers. On one container he wrote “thank you” and on the other “you fool”. He then instructed school children to say the labels on the jars out loud everyday when they passed them by. After 30 days, the rice in the container with positive thoughts had barely changed, while the other was moldy and rotten."

Check out this simple experiment anyone can do to show that maybe our thoughts are more powerful than we think!

Very interesting, I think I am going to try this, not sure when, but I will let you know the results.

Thoughts are definitely energy and your most powerful thoughts will manifest in one form or another.

"Dr. Masaru Emoto,

There are studies challenging his 'scientific' method. This is one: http://is-masaru-emoto-for-real.com/ - Just google, and you'll find many more.
He's a scam, like all psychics

I haven't read all the work that challenges his claims, but in the scientific world, that's quite normal and nothing new.  If there are others challenging his claims, it doesn't necessarily mean he is a scam.

Well, if you provide only the images/data that would confirm your assumptions without disclosing the entire research, how do you call it? If not a scam, at least dishonest, partial, opportunist, etc. And how come that the rice experiment seems to turn that way only for him? :) - Because I did try, years ago, when I first heard of him. And they were all pretty stinky, even the beloved jar. Btw, where's he now? Finally, I do believe in the power of our brain, that we can change our own reality, that we can even heal ourselves, brains are powerful. But no, we can't save rice from rotting for just being thanksful. And water is quite deaf...

I'm pretty sure physics don't work that way, and I'm dead certain that without a thorough analysis of his experiment - including the control conditions - that's a heck of a claim to make.

It's not so much that it's a scam as it is pseudoscience.  There are a lot of things that can be said about energy and resonance, but you can't make rice rot based on positive or negative thoughts.  That's caused by bacteria and fungi, not the vibrations of the water, meaning that either one jar had purer water than the other, or one jar was sealed more tightly than the other.

That's not to say that manifestation isn't real, nor is it to say that you don't get back what you put out.  But that has more to do with the emotions of those around you and your own personal success - the more positive you are, the more apparent that is to the people around you, and the more likely you are to succeed.  The more negative you are, the more apparent that is as well, and the more likely you are to fail as a result.  I don't think anyone has been able to do a realistic experiment on how your emotional output affects the vibrations of the particles around you, because human emotions are so subject to change that it's almost impossible to get a control base for it (in other words, finding someone that would be consistently neutral and not likely to be distracted by any other thoughts or emotions for the duration of the experiment).

You are too funny. I laughed at both posts (...water is quite deaf). I didn't look at the flip side but of course, there are always both pros/cons and I just took the rice experiment at face value. I sent that video to at least three people already.
